Caring for yourself and your children,
should include care for your elderly family members too.

reflective safety in the dark

Give the elderly family members a safety reflector and a wrist slap reflector as well, because these are simple items for them to remember and wear. A safety reflector protects the elderly best from accidents on the dark roads and streets.

By statistical facts collected along decades of research in many European countries and in the North America the figures show that the elderly are a high risk on the roads for pedestrian accidents, of all pedestrians killed in traffic accidents nearly half of whom are over 64 years of age or older. This same risk pattern appears everywhere no matter nation or culture.

Some 17% of all traffic fatalities in EU countries are pedestrians. People aged 64 or older account for the largest share of fatalities and even when the number of accidents reduces the fatalities among elderly pedestrians keep being the same by percentage from the total number of deaths amongst the pedestrians.

EAR_1_LTtxt2All too often the elderly are forgotten as people who need to be cared for or about and informing them about their road safety as well as, providing them with safety reflectors can make the difference for their safety.

Don’t forget the cyclist in the dark!

Make sure even the elderly have reflectors on their bicycles visible from all directions.

SAFETY WARNING

? Be aware that some brands of reflectors may look the same but would not pass the requirement for reflectivity and give a false sense of safety to  anyone who uses them.
